Friends, STOP! Do you hear HIM? 1 Thessalonians 4:11, “Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life.”
Just breathe. This is our spirit’s deepest need, that we can learn to know God and receive spiritual refreshment and nutriment. That is how we are nourished and fed. That’s how we receive the Living Bread. That’s how our very bodies are healed and how our spirit experiences the very life of our risen Lord. Only then we emerge to do life. We cannot go through life strong and fresh on constant express trains with ten minutes for lunch.
We must have quiet hours. Enjoy secret places of the Most High. Embrace times of waiting upon the Lord. Then as our strength is renewed, we learn to mount up on wings as eagles, causing us to run and not be weary and to walk and not faint.
The best thing about this stillness is that it gives God a chance to work. Anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from their works, just as God did from His. Hebrews 4:10 and 11, “For anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from their works, just as God did from his. Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest…”
Friends, Let us learn to just breathe in His stillness!
